If you are new to the internet then you may not realize that the web address you type into your browser is
known as a domain name. A domain name is an easy way for humans to understand and navigate the internet.

If you have a web site or are thinking about getting a
domain name, you should seriously consider registering
your own domain name. A domain name is a name like "mysite.com" or "breakroomnews.com", which you can
use to refer to your website.
You do not have to be a company or organization to register a domain name.
Any individual can do it too.

Getting a domain name involves registering the name you want with a domain name registrar. For example, if
you choose a name like "mycompanyname.com", you will have to go to a registrar, pay a registration fee that
ranges between $4 to $35 for that name. That will give you the right to the name for a year, and you will have to
renew it annually.  Some web hosts will register it and pay for the name for free, while others will do it for you
but you'll have to pay a service fee.

Domain names disappear extremely fast.  If you want a domain name for your site,
search now.  After all, $35
for the name is pretty cheap when you realize that you're cornering a good name for yourself.
